Rawty Raw is a Toronto-based hip-hop artist whose sound reflects both the city’s diversity and his Jamaican roots. Blending smooth delivery with introspective lyricism, he pulls from dancehall influence, boom bap foundations, and modern trap and street rap to create music that feels grounded and authentic. His voice carries a calm confidence, pairing lived experience with sharp storytelling and melodic sensibility.

Before joining Type A Records, Rawty Raw built his foundation working with MCR Records, developing his sound and presence within the underground scene. He is also the founding member of Cold Hearted Bastards (CHB), a collective known for its raw energy and street-driven perspective. Earlier in his career, he was part of Team Head Crack alongside Mic Guts, further cementing his roots in Toronto’s independent hip-hop circuit.

He recently completed a cohesive trilogy of releases with the Happy Hour EP, following Late Night Latte EP and the foundation-setting Morning Coffee EP. Together, the series captures different moods and moments, showcasing his versatility as both a writer and performer. Now as part of the Type A Records roster, Rawty Raw continues to evolve — delivering music that balances substance, style, and a distinct cultural perspective.
