"Recetas" is a 13-track concept album that uses Puerto Rican cuisine as its structural and lyrical foundation track titles like "Pastelitos," "Mofongo," "Café Con Leche," and "Arroz Con Pollo" each anchor a different song in flavor, memory, and identity. Mic Mountain, an Afro-Latino MC from the D.C. area with Puerto Rican, African American, and Native American heritage, treats the project like a family table: every dish carries a story, every story carries culture. Mr. Scratch Hook, Goliath Kong, and DNA Beatz handle production, with Mr. Scratch Hook also engineering, mixing, mastering, and adding signature scratch work the kind of classic MC/DJ partnership that grounds the album in hip-hop tradition.
