"Blackness" is the sixth single from Jeru The Damaja's living album "Home Cooking" and serves an outro to 2020 and an intro into 2021.
With all of the racial tension, police brutality, and not to mention the coronavirus, 2020 was a year to reflect on life; that reflection led to the revelation expressed in this song.
"Blackness" has a funky spoken word vibe, big drums, and mystical strings; the message is clear and, in this day and age, needed more than ever.
To achieve higher levels of existence, we must exist on a higher level.
