"In 2023 it will be 50 years since Charizma was born and 30 years since he died. We had a lot of dreams together when we started as a group, and when it was all over, some of them came true, but many did not. We DID get signed to a label and we DID get to travel to Europe for some shows with members of Digital Underground. We DID get to open for artists like House Of Pain, Cypress Hill and Nas - who hadn't recorded Illmatic yet - and we DID get to go on the nationally syndicated hip-hop radio show The Wakeup Show and get interviewed by Sway. Looking back, I realize that things were really starting to happen for us! But we never made that music video or finished that album when he passed away on December 16, 1993 at the age of 20.
I always wanted to do something animated of Charizma, but in 2003 when I released our album 'Big Shots' 10 years after it was made, I didn't really have the resources. The "Talk About A Girl" video that James Blagden (@blagaveli) came up with had everything I was hoping for. It had humor, personality and heart. It was an emotional release for me to watch it with my wife and 3-year-old daughter, and for Charizma's mom, who basically described the same thing I felt when she first saw it. - Peanut Butter Wolf
