Gov’Nah x DJ Chino420 "Where I’m From" [SINGLE]

This record carries lineage. Built on a sample from a song written by Gov’Nah’s father and his iconic Ecuadorian group 200 MILLAS, the track is rooted in the culture and soul of Ecuador. With Gov’Nah born in Guayaquil, the music already comes with a deep history but his story doesn’t end there.

Gov’Nah was raised in Toronto’s Jane & Finch, one of the city’s most influential yet hardest-hit neighbourhoods. Growing up in the trenches of J&F added a whole new layer to his identity mixing Ecuadorian heritage with the raw, unfiltered realities of Toronto street life. That combination forged his hunger, sharpened his perspective, and shaped the voice he raps with today.

Produced by DJ Chino420 an Ecuadorian-Canadian whose mother is from Ambato, Ecuador the song is powered by shared roots and shared pride. Two artists representing Ecuador from different angles, meeting in Toronto, carrying the culture while speaking their truths.

“Where I’m From” is both a reflection and a declaration. A salute to Ecuador. A salute to Jane & Finch. A salute to the struggles, sacrifices, and survival that molded Gov’Nah. Every bar honors the past while pushing the legacy of 200 MILLAS into a new generation.

This isn’t just a track. This is heritage. This is bloodline. This is Gov’Nah standing tall in where he’s from — and where he’s going.
