Mic Mountain is an Afro-Latino emcee and producer of Native American descent from the Washington D.C. area. Inspired by hip-hop legends like Run-DMC, A Tribe Called Quest, and Redman, he honed his craft in local studios from a young age. Over the years, he has collaborated with icons such as Mellow Man Ace, Psycho Les, Thirstin Howl the 3rd, Prince Po, Pace Won, Tame One, Hakim Green, Shabaam Sahdeeq, and Supreme the Eloheem.
Blending his multicultural heritage with clever wordplay and striking metaphors, Mic Mountain’s music bridges hip-hop’s past and future. With three mixtapes and nine solo albums, he continues to push boundaries while repping his roots and community with pride.
His latest release, MicTronics, is a heavyweight collaboration with Hartford, CT producer Tronbeatz. The project is a masterclass in boom bap, filled with gritty drums, dusty samples, razor-sharp cuts, and rhymes charged with authenticity. Singles like “DMV MC” (with turntable wizardry by Mr. Scratch Hook) shine a spotlight on the Washington D.C. area’s hip-hop culture—from Landover, MD to Uptown Northwest. Nostalgic yet inventive tracks such as “Mystery Weed” and “Scooba Scrap Raps” feat. Thirstin Howl the 3rd bring cartoonish creativity to raw cipher energy, while street bangers like “It’s a Wave” and hard-hitting collabs like “Broken Glass” feat. The Bad Seed keep the edge sharp.
Following the visionary Mountain Dreams earlier in 2025, MicTronics marks Mic Mountain’s ninth solo album and further cements his place as one of the DMV’s most consistent and versatile MCs. More than an album, it’s a time machine—capturing the spirit of 90s East Coast hip-hop and recharging it with the energy of today.
Acclaimed DMV lyricist Mic Mountain joins forces with Hartford, CT’s sonic architect Tronbeatz for a heavyweight collaboration that bridges golden era hip-hop with the raw hunger of 2025. Their new album, “MicTronics,” is a masterclass in boom bap: gritty drums, dusty samples, razor-sharp cuts, and rhymes that crackle with authenticity.
From the jump, singles like “DMV MC” (with turntable wizardry by Mr. Scratch Hook) put the spotlight on the culture of the Washington, DC Area—from the corners of Landover, MD to the blocks of Uptown Northwest. This is hometown hip-hop at its sharpest, repping the region with pride and precision.
The album isn’t afraid to get creative either—songs like the Scooby-Doo-flipped “Mystery Weed” or the animated romp “Scooba Scrap Raps” feat. Thirstin Howl the 3rd proves Mic Mountain knows how to bend nostalgia into fresh, unforgettable hip-hop moments. These joints feel like classic Saturday morning cartoons meeting the raw cipher energy of a Brooklyn stoop.
For the streets, records like “It’s a Wave” keep things gritty, while underground heavyweight collabs like “Broken Glass” (featuring The Bad Seed) deliver raw battle-ready exchanges that remind you why Mic Mountain is nine albums deep and still sharpening his sword.
Following the success of “Mountain Dreams” earlier in 2025, this marks Mic Mountain’s 9th solo album, cementing his place as one of the DMV’s most consistent and versatile MCs. “MicTronics” is more than an album—it’s a time machine. It captures the spirit of 90s East Coast boom bap and recharges it with the energy of today.
If you live for sharp bars, neck-snapping beats, and that authentic hip-hop feeling—you need “MicTronics” in your rotation. Cop it, spin it loud, and let it knock.
