IDOL SMASHAZ is a lyrically intense, fiery, revolutionary, educational, spiritual, conscious gritty battle-rap focused track that showcases the signature commanding delivery of the 2 album MC's Nec Nymbl and RAjaw and their brother in rhyme featured Broken Sword. Sharp lyrics, with 3 distinct voices which remain deep and powerful. It's a cynical critique of the modern world of pseudo-progressivism, self-worship, egocentricity, delusion, modern societal ills, corporate greed, and multi-faceted idolatry with things material and immaterial.
IDOL SMASHAZ is a passionate, dense, and brutal spew of consciousness. A creative response to the personal challenges of every single human being.
Nec Nymbl comes forth with his wild imagery, parables, and rhetoric. The first half of his verse is super melodic with his cadence and delivery as he displays harmonies going up and down scales as he blasts each word.
Midway he comes more aggressive, changing the tone a bit, then goes back to the previous approach, and ends off with a catchy bridge "1 idol, 2 idol, 3 idol, 4..." just before the chorus smacks.
RAjaw takes the mic after the chorus, delivering a powerful 2nd verse filled with intelligence, philosophy and education. He is more calm, riding with the drum pattern in a consistent rhythm throughout with his raspy delivery.
Broken Sword is passed the torch back to back with RAjaw for verse 3 reaffirming all the main artists who delivered before him. He solidifies and seals the theme and message with affirmation and confidence in his voice.
The track serves as an aggressive, old-school introduction with heavy boom-bap drums crafted by Nec Nymbl which lead to the distorted bassline, highlighted with a war horn and educational prelude monologue building momentum and suspense. It's a powerful single - or better yet - a hip-hop anthem focusing on Godly empowerment, freedom, spiritual rebellion, while staying true to traditional, non-commercial roots.
The instrumental crafted by Record/Music Producer Nec Nymbl has a very subtle and excellent progression, going from drum solos, to drums and bassline, to drums bassline and gritty floating echoed horns, to a very unique vintage Organ chop and melody which changes and then comes in full force for the chorus.
Nec Nymbl has also proved to be attentive to each and every sonic detail, as he has also meticulously Mixed and Mastered the single in his professional studio @selahbitsounds
It has a classic, uncompromising 90's sound, maintaining a gritty boom-bap aesthetic, with a ANTHEM HYPED UP group chorus made to rock the crowd and pump your veins as you feel the urge to SMASH IDOL'S!
One is reminded of Wu-Tang Clan, KRS-One, Onyx, RA the Rugged Man, Boot Camp Click, Strange Famous Records, The Procussions, Swollen Members, Poor Righteous Teachers, Dead Prez, Sage Francis, Non-Phixion, Arsonists, Public Enemy, Mos Def, Brother Ali, Aesop Rock etc.
Be on the lookout for more heat from Nec & RAjaw as they come close to completing a very conscious hip-hop LP with many different flavours and styles.
Also be prepared to expect a new single from Nec Nymbl & Broken Sword releasing an EP very soon as well.
