Stay Tuned — Ichiban, InkLine and Mane Rok — build this three-track project entirely around Panik of The Molemen, which is the right way to structure a short-form release: one production voice, three MCs, a cohesive sound from start to finish. Panik and Polished Assassin built The Molemen into one of Chicago's most important underground production outfits, with a dense, rugged approach to Boom Bap that sat at the harder end of the Midwest spectrum and influenced a generation of producers operating in that space. Having him behind all three beats means the project doesn't fragment — the atmosphere holds, the drum pattern stays consistent, and Stay Tuned gets to focus on the lyricism rather than adjusting to different sonic environments. DJ AWHAT!!! handles the cuts, InkLine mixes, M. "The Mexican" Garcia masters. At three tracks the project doesn't overstay its welcome, which is exactly the discipline a release like this requires.
