"D12 Forever Vol. 1" is D-12's third studio album and their first since "D12 World" in 2004 — and their first since the passing of Proof. An unreleased Proof verse is used on the album, adding a layer of weight no marketing could manufacture. The feature list runs wide: Method Man, Xzibit, B-Real, and others from the extended network. Jake Bass produces the full album. Fredro Starr and Sticky Fingaz serve as executive producers, creating an unusual Onyx-D12 bridge. The album carries the gravity of a 22-year gap and the legacy of a lost member — a difficult balance between celebration and memorial.
