The Alchemist "LIQUID FORM" [ALBUM]

When The Alchemist drops a new project, the underground pays attention. "LIQUID FORM" follows his November 2024 solo beat tape "The Genuine Article," continuing a prolific run that included "Flying High" and "Yacht Rock 2" in 2023. His signature — sample archaeology digging through psychedelic jazz, obscure soul records, and cinematic textures — has shaped the sound of modern underground rap as decisively as any producer in the last decade. His influence extends from Griselda through the Bruiser Brigade orbit to London's boom bap circles. Every Alchemist project doubles as a state-of-the-underground address: who gets space on his beats, how far he pushes his own sonic language, and where the culture is heading. "LIQUID FORM" will reveal whether he's found another new direction after the extraordinarily productive 2020–2024 stretch (Bo Jackson, Haram, Continuance, The Great Escape) or whether he's further compressing the existing formula. With Alchemist, either path means quality. The title alone — "Liquid Form" — suggests fluidity, shapelessness, something that takes the form of whatever container it's poured into. That's always been his strength: the beats define the MC, not the other way around.
