Reign Of Darkness is a collective statement systematically interlocking two worlds: the Spanish-language dark-rap underground around The Jotaka Perverse, SAI, Sr. Amargo, Tvmor, and Katha on one side and a remarkable density of Wu-Tang periphery on the other. Solomon Childs, who already appeared in this coverage on Heaven's Tank's "Trifecta," shows up three times: on "Creation of the Streetz," "El Atentado," and its remix. "Mexico Streetz" adds Beretta 9 and Shogun Assason both from the Killarmy universe, the militarily-coded Wu family around 4th Disciple and Dom Pachino, who has also been covered here. The tracklist tells its own geography: "Patria o Muerte," "La Fosa de los Muertos," "Lento Suicidio," "La Vida es una Puta" this is language from an environment where death, homeland, and despair aren't metaphorical decoration. "Mexico Streetz" as a track title featuring two Killarmy voices is almost programmatic: the Staten Island chamber aesthetic gets translated into Latin American street context here, not merely imported. At seventeen tracks including two remixes, the project is deliberately maximal a posse album in the classic sense, where the sheer volume of voices ("La Sekta" alone gathers five, "Take Our Advice" seven artists) makes the sect concept of the group name audible.
