KRS-One – The Teacha, The Blastmaster, the man who won the Bridge War with Boogie Down Productions, released *Criminal Minded* and *By All Means Necessary*, founded the Temple of Hip Hop, and has carried the torch of conscious rap for four decades – returns with "What Is The Message." Produced by Mad Lion, Jesse West, and KRS-One himself. The Community Cut video is directed by BDP TV, edited and colored by H.A.L.E Films, with special shoutouts to the Temple of Hip Hop, Brick City Newark NJ, and the entire hip-hop community. The title is a direct callback to Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five's "The Message" (1982) – the track that legitimized hip-hop as a vehicle for social commentary. KRS is asking the question that matters in 2026: what is the message now? Mad Lion – the Jamaican-American MC known for "Real Ting" and his deep connection to the KRS-One family – adds his reggae-inflected energy. Available on all streaming platforms. When KRS-One speaks, you listen. That hasn't changed in forty years.
