Maze Overlay "The War On US" [ALBUM]

Full context arrives here for "Nancy Reagan," previously covered as a standalone single: it's part of Maze Overlay's fourteen-track concept album *The War On US* – and the title states its mission plainly. Track titles like "It's NOT Cocaine," "D.A.R.E.," "Nancy Reagan," "Mis(sing) America," and "96' Nas" build a sustained critique of America's War on Drugs and its impact on Black America. Swab is the album's central collaborator – he mixes, handles cuts, and features on seven of the fourteen tracks. Fully produced by Rob Denir0, mastered by The Analog Lord. The feature roster reads like a who's-who of conceptually driven underground rap: Asun Eastwood, Griot Noy, Mvck Nyce, Carl Sherron, Skipp Whitman – and on "Cold Wars," the posthumous feature from Sean Price alongside Yazid Chionesu. A Sean Price feature on a 2026 release necessarily means previously unreleased archival material, handled with the weight it deserves. Artwork by Luke Heath (Illest Trait). The album moves between historical reckoning, street realism, and personal reflection – "96' Nas" gesturing toward homage of Nas's *It Was Written* era, while "A Joint For Spike" featuring Carl Sherron possibly nods to Spike Lee.
