Nineteen tracks with a guest list connecting generations and scenes: Open Mike Eagle, Ché Noir, Abstract Rude, Eligh (Living Legends), Von Pea (Tanya Morgan), ScienZe, sahn, C-Red, JazzZ, Odario, Wavy Bagels, Sam Sellers, Dub Sonata, Twistello, Supa Kaliente and Chad Price. The foundation rests in the Golden Era boom bap tradition, but Kevlar's production evokes the genre-bending work of DJ Shadow, RJD2 and DJ Vadim — with additional global influences: Jamaican, Latin, Afro-Brazilian touches, plus nods to his own Polish and Irish immigrant heritage. The album is deeply personal: a tumultuous three-year stretch in Polowy's life — a seismic career shift, a divorce, the deaths of several friends — shaped its thematic frame.
