"Static Shock" is SC Static's 16th solo album and second full collaboration with producer Jesse Castro and at this stage of their partnership, Castro's production doesn't sound like an external contribution anymore. It sounds like the room Static thinks in. Seventeen tracks, sequenced like a live circuit: "Shocking Isn't It?" opens the breaker, "Electricity" and "Static Shock" hold the middle current, and "Static Apocalypse" closes the grid. Quanah Jay Hicks of Seven Star Interactive handles the entire technical chain recording, mixing, mastering while Decaf Black supplies the visual identity. The album's most charged moment comes at "The Future 2.0," where Akir and Immortal Technique step in to send voltage through the finale. It's the kind of album that doesn't announce itself loudly because it doesn't need to.
