Touch & Moves - Oldspeak

For “Oldspeak”, the third single from 1984, the highly anticipated upcoming collaboration EP from West and East Coast giants Touch & Moves, the Edmonton emcee reminisces about the language of hip hop’s history while subtly slipping double entendres in-between metaphors over the minor keys of the haunting production provided by Moves. Each verse is bookended by one of Touch’s trademark technical displays of wordplay as the hook comes in: “This is oldspeak, rappers today, it’s like they spoke Greek, homie / You can hold heat, and not show me / I only fuck with old peeps, with flows so deep / And cold beats from Moves that expose the so weak”. Time to brush up on your oldspeak!
