Benny The Butcher continues his reign as one of hip-hop's most consistent voices with *The Plugs I Met 2.5* – an EP that serves as a bridge chapter in one of rap's most beloved series, arriving ahead of a landmark anniversary release scheduled for June 26, 2026, which will combine all PIM titles into one classic album. The Black Soprano Family leader and Buffalo native officially released the six-track project on June 24, continuing the gritty street narratives, elite lyricism, and hard-hitting production that have helped establish Benny as one of the most respected rappers of his generation. Benny is joined by an impressive lineup: Raekwon, 38 Spesh, Detroit rapper Bruiser Wolf, and Black Soprano Family members ElCamino and Fuego Base. Production comes from Harry Fraud, Daringer, Beat Butcha, and the late DJ Shay. Harry Fraud brings his signature atmospheric soundscapes and luxurious production style, his previous work with Benny having consistently resonated with fans. Daringer returns as one of the producers most closely associated with Griselda's rise, his minimalist and haunting beats remaining essential to the collective's identity. The closing track "Can't Be Much" sends off the EP with a symphonic trap outro, Benny getting deep in his coke rap bag lyrically. Many will presumably say *The Plugs I Met 2.5* is the best thing Benny has made since *Tana Talk 4* or *Everybody Can't Go* – and the six tracks make a compelling case.
