Vic Monroe & Tone Spliff "Native Science" [SINGLE]

Vic Monroe and Tone Spliff announced "Native Science," an album whose title spells out its intention: paying homage to the Native Tongues movement A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Jungle Brothers, Black Sheep without collapsing into retro pastiche. Tone Spliff handles all production and scratches, Vic Monroe writes twelve of the thirteen tracks. Features from Philmore Greene on "Chicag-Ode" and E-Smitty on "Never Give Up" slot in organically. Matt Wagner mixes and masters at MWX Audio, Tone Spliff manages layout. The release is deliberately limited: 100 CDs worldwide, only 50 available exclusively via Bandcamp, with vinyl pre-orders opening at ElasticStage on August 21st. The teaser "Cuties" gives a first impression soulful loops, precise drums, relaxed but content-heavy bars. Album drops September 18th.
