This isn't a reunion in the marketing sense it's chronology. In 1991 Moka Only formed Split Sphere with Prevail; in 1993 the duo moved to San Diego, then to Vancouver in 1994. Prevail went on to form Swollen Members with Madchild, and while Moka named the group, he chose to pursue a solo career, later joining and departing again. 4X JUNO Award winners Prevail and Moka Only were Split Sphere before co-founding Swollen Members, which resulted in Platinum sales certifications and legions of fans across the world. The EP collects a year-long single run: "Welcome Us Back" (April 20), "Reactivated" (May 17), "Bonafide Badlands" (June 15), "Pero and Emmo" (July 10), then "Unga Bunga" and finally "Witness the Splitness" on September 4 six tracks, six singles. The distribution stance stands out: the acapella and instrumental for "Witness the Splitness" are offered at no cost, with an optional tip at checkout, explicitly cleared for remixing. Moka Only remains a category of his own an immensely gifted performer who can rap, sing, freestyle and produce in a variety of formats, with a catalog running into dozens of albums. Three names on the cover, but at its core this is a two-man project with 35 years of backstory.
