Futurewave also works behind the camera on “Dirty Weaponry”: he produced the song and shot its official video, with editing by Son Tzu, Daniel Son’s alias. Taken from “Nom De Guerre,” the recording brings Daniel Son, Asun Eastwood and Futurewave together again after “Physics of Filth” and “Bite the Bullet.” On “Physics of Filth” in 2018, the two MCs wrote the lyrics while Futurewave produced, mixed and mastered the album. “Bite the Bullet” followed in 2020. Speaking to HOTMC that year, Eastwood described their sessions as informal gatherings rather than elaborate plans, explaining that they could accumulate an album’s worth of music in a couple of weeks. He connected that album’s title to being dismissed by others, turning an instruction to endure rejection back on those doing the dismissing. Their shared work also has an organisational home: Daniel Son and Futurewave were already running WAVGODMUSIC together when Son spoke to WORDS WITH WORD$ in 2023. The label releases “Nom De Guerre,” with “Dirty Weaponry” closing the album.
