Money Mogly & Brass Balls "Boom & Bang" [VIDEO]

First video out of A Cruel Summer, the seventeen-track album Money Mogly made with Orion and DJ Exes and "Boom & Bang" is one of three records on that project where DJ Exes shows up, which makes it one of the album's structural anchors rather than a deep cut. The hook is a children's-game taunt: "My guns go boom boom and your guns go pow." It's knowingly silly, and it works because the verses around it are not. Money Mogly raps in dense, associative bursts that barely pause for the chorus Wu-Tang tickets bought with a school voucher, a biopic on the movie browser, a gladiator in the Colosseum and the movement from image to image is fast enough that the record never settles into a groove it can't get out of. He has a habit of burying the best joke at the end of a run: "I buy Wu-Tang tickets with my school voucher" is funnier the second time. Mr. Beleaf directs, shooting largely in and around Lot 11, the Miami skatepark on NW 2nd Street, with a cameo from Prince Divine. It looks like it was made by people who had access to a place and a camera, which is the correct scale for the record. The album itself has been out since the start of the month and already got a full write-up here. This is the visual for the track that most wants one a hook you can chant and a rapper who treats the beat like a sparring partner.
