Crisis Tha Sharpshooter and Shaka Amazulu The 7th originally planned Set Apart as an EP, then expanded it with remixes into a 2021 album. “Money Ain't Everything” now introduces Set Further Apart, the second chapter of their planned trilogy, with an animated video directed by Shaka. The song is available ahead of the album, which remains on preorder. Crisis comes to this partnership through Black Knights, the Los Angeles group whose connection with RZA reaches back to the late 1990s. RZA later introduced Crisis and fellow Knight Rugged Monk to John Frusciante, leading to their work together on Medieval Chamber. That collaboration continued with The Almighty. In a 2015 interview, Monk explained that Medieval Chamber had concentrated on the duo’s raps and Frusciante’s production, while The Almighty brought friends into the sessions as guests. The Crisis and Shaka series also draws on those established relationships. Monk appeared on Set Apart alongside Rubbabandz and Solomon Childs, and is set to join Crisis again on “Heavy,” one of eight tracks announced for Set Further Apart. Shaka produces, mixes and masters the album in full.
