Esteemed underground Hip Hop duo Slik Jack and Vincent Pryce release their new collaborative album through 100Mad and 187er Records. 'The Pryce You Pay' serves as a follow-up to their 2025 album 'Everyone's Gotta Pryce', which took the boom-bap scene by storm. 

Pryce stirs up a gritty, yet cinematic backdrop looped with dusty soul, rock, and jazz chops. Jack spews cut-throat bars and razor-sharp wordplay. The duo’s unmatched, raw energy is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Chadio - Cousin of Lucy

Chadio had a bad breakup. We’ve all been there. And when it’s a long-term relationship that ends in cheating, it can be especially rough. How does one get over it? For Chadio, he channels the anger and grief into song. The result is Cousin of Lucy, a short album of breakup songs that serves as a spiritual successor to his No Wives Club (2021). Here he breaks down the break up, revealing the circumstances of the situation throughout but most of all on first single “Hear Me Out”, gets metaphorical with second single “Sweater Song” featuring Nolto, and gives voice to vengeful thoughts on opening song “Morning Breath Takers” and “At Peace”. But light shines through as Chadio looks forward to moving on with third single and album closer “Wrong Way”. Aside from the frantic, upbeat sound of that final song, the production from Aalo Guha and Pasquale is dark, sombre and often off-kilter. Chadio’s Cousin of Lucy is profoundly personal and also thoroughly universal.

Chadio - Hear Me Now (DJ Pack)

 

“Hear Me Out”, the first offering from Chadio’s upcoming Cousin Of Lucy, delves even deeper into what was the thematic intention of his last album, 2021’s No Wives Club with producer The Dirty Sample, and is hyper-focused on a partnership turned sour. Aalo Guha & Pasquale share the production duty, providing a stark, booming backdrop for our storyteller, with lines like, “making promises but it ain't that/whatever that I got it isn’t payback/any memory that's yours I wanna take back/put up brand new walls I’m gonna paint black” expertly emphasizing the level of emotion this track possesses. More of a recollection, than a traditional song, “Hear Me Out” also has no hook, just a thoughtful quote from civli rights activist James Baldwin. If you’ve ever been through a bad breakup, you’ll relate to this song.

The Dirty Sample - Linger (single & video)

 

Evolving from a short doo-wop intro into an off-kilter soulful instrumental, The Dirty Sample’s “Linger” was a bit of a fluke. During a beat-making session, the reclusive producer from Calgary, AB, put on a record, stepped away to grab his coffee, and a perfect loop of a skip happened. Rumour has it he lingered. And then he dropped a meaty bunch of drums behind it. “It was an eerie moment” is how The Dirty Sample describes this ghost skip, a possibly supernatural phenomenon that resulted in a great first single for his upcoming instrumental album, Beats to Murder Rappers To, The Dirty Sample’s creepy new instrumental album dropping Halloween weekend. Put it on and linger. There’s much more to come!

Mickey O'Brien - Hubris (video) + tour

 

“If I talk about God my record won’t get played,” goes the opening and closing refrain of this spiritual ditty unlike most. On new single “Hubris”, the fifth from his new album Shift Change, Mickey O’Brien reveals his spiritual awakening and expresses his belief in, and worship of, God, but he also calls out those blasphemers who distort religion for selfish and self-serving reasons. Accompanying the bluesy album version with its live instrumentation is a new remix from original producer Fresh Kils, a sample-heavy boom bap beat with soulful male vocal replacing the jazzy hook of the original, while the cuts from DJ SLAM! remain a central focus. Both of these records talk about God and surely both should get played!

ArOzA Crew - The Asphalt EP

 

As a harbinger of the upcoming ArOzA Crew “The Asphalt EP” the remix for the track “For Da Nation” by Flip (Texta) is released.

 

In the summer of 2021, the ArOzA Crew released the tune "Asphalt" as single. Shortly thereafter, the then still unknown band was perceived as a promising newcomer in the Hip Hop scene. Interviews were given with BET, Urban Vault UK, PULS, and German newspapers.

 

It was no surprise that Expanded Art Records got in touch to license the song for a 12inch vinyl. Instead of just one single song, ArOzA Crew offered EAR an entire EP with more songs from the time "Asphalt" was recorded and fitting remixes. For remixes, Flip from Texta and Maniac from the Demograffics were won over.

 

Flip, a rap star in his country Austria, remixed the song "For Da Nation" which features London rapper Rece Miller. The remix is out now on all major DSP`s.
