Watch Your Six (feat. Sadat X) by Psych Major

Emcee/producer Psych Major returns with a new single titled "Watch Your Six". Featuring another collaboration with the legend, Sadat X (the third collaborative track between the two to drop this year). Speaking on the track Psych said "it's a story-telling joint. I based my verse on a character similar to the former Police Chief who tried to bury the initial Gilgo Beach investigation because he was afraid the feds would uncover his own corruption."

"Pre Giuliani" - Psych Major ft. Squeegie Oblong

Emcee/ Producer Psych Major returns with an ode to the New York of his youth.  “Pre-Giuliani”(also featuring his home-town homie Squeegie Oblong) is peppered with references of touchstones to the five boros during the 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s that native heads will recognize.
Speaking on the joint he said “I miss the ol’ NY, not the crime, not the danger but the culture, the flavor and the history that you could glean from any block.  These are some of my most vibrant memories of growing up here.”
This track appears on the new EP Old Head (out now via Below SystemRecords) which also features Sadat X, Wordsworth and Dagha.
In addition to this EP, Psych Major is currently at work on a new project with Dagha and has recently produced tracks for Vic Spencer, YoungZee and the theme song to the new comedy special by Ron Taylor (BillBurr Presents: The Ringers).

Old Head by Psych Major

Emcee/Producer Psych Major leans into his senior status with new EP, "Old Head". The five-track project celebrates 90's boom-bap style with discordant edges and pointed lyrics.
Examples of this is the lead-off track "Kvetch Pt. 1" which relates a series of gripes the artist has with the social media culture and the pent-up rage that has been building over the last few years. As the artist relates, "yeah, post-pandemic, post U.S. elections, there's a very unhinged, unexpected response that can pop off at a moment's notice while you are in the most mundane environments. Part of what I relate to in that track is when this super tall, old guy was threatening me because he thought I had too many items to use the self-check-out at the supermarket. He's threatening to kill me and I’m wondering if I counter-attack, kick an old man's ass and get cancelled online or even worse get my ass kicked by an old man in better shape and become a meme."
Other tracks delve like "Pre-Giuliani" (feat. Squeegie Oblong) are an homage to pre-gentrification New York City from two life-long residents and "Under Any Condition” feat. long-time partner Dagha (with chorus provided by Sadat X). As Psych says of the latter track "yeah, it’s showing appreciation for my inner circle, which is small as fuck, just a few friends and my family, because you can get lost, not just in this game but at life taking people at their word, believing that their public image is truly who they are."
Other guests include lyricist extraordinaire Wordsworth and a special appearance/outro by Jamal Gasol.

“Under Any Condition” is the first leak from the forthcoming Old Head EP to drop on 6/14 via Below System Records which also features verses from Wordsworth (eMC, Lyricist Lounge), Squeegie Oblong (Harbor Kidz) and spoken word appearance by Jamal Gasol.
In addition to this EP, Psych Major is currently at work on a new project with Dagha and has recently produced tracks for Vic Spencer, Young Zee and the theme song to the new comedy special by Ron Taylor (Bill Burr Presents: The Ringers).

The Late Starter by Psych Major

Psych Major is "The Late Starter". On the significance of the title of his forthcoming EP, he reveals, "Let's just say that me and hip-hop were born around the same time. I've always been a devotee of the music and the culture, but raising a family, career struggles and dealing with personal issues have always taken precedence for parts of my adult life. I'm not complaining, putting out less music is fine if you're happy with what you put out.

He's not kidding, aside from the Noise Is The Trigger EP (his duo with Boston emcee Dagha), this is his first non-single release since 2010. First single "Submersibles" makes up for the wait, however, as the track accelerates to head-nod factor ten, replete with chopped-up guitar stabs, lo-fi vocal samples, and a monstrous beat break. Lyrical firepower is provided by Gold Chain Music's MidaZ The BEAST and Psych himself (under his alias Psych 101).

Other guests on the project include Young Zee (Da Outsidaz), Ruste Juxx, Dagha, Reef The Lost Cauze, Shabaam Sahdeeq, Squeegie Oblong and Snook Da Crook (Dirt Platoon).
