In the summer of 2023, while Atmosphere, ZooDeVille and HEBL toured together on a run called The Detour, slug (of Atmosphere) joined tour companions ZooDeVille (of NOFUN!) and HEBL (aka Plain Ole Bill, a contributing producer/turntablist for Atmosphere's live shows and studio recordings) in collaborating on some new music. Every time the tour had a day off, the three artists channeled their creative surplus into producing, writing and recording a whole new song together, shooting a music video, and naming it after the city it was created in. While the videos were shared directly to their social media platforms as a way to engage their individual followings and drive awareness about their tour, the music wasn't available elsewhere. As a result, their comment sections lit up with followers praising the tunes and asking when and where they could stream or buy the music, but it was left as a special insider's pact between the artists and fans. Now, the trio of HEBL x ZooDeVille x slug present this work as a six-song EP, The Detour, available as a limited vinyl release, and available on all digital platforms.
