Emma Lee M.C. & Roccwell feat. Bahamadia "Cravings & Withdrawals" [Retrogott Remix]

The underground hit single "Cravings & Withdrawals" by Emma Lee M.C. & Roccwell featuring Gang Starr Foundation member Bahamadia (taken off the critically acclaimed mini-album "Chocolate Bars" released on Ill Adrenaline Records, 2024), gets the remix treatment by none other than legendary German MC, producer, DJ, and author Retrogott. Currently the single is a digital release with plans of a limited edition 7" vinyl release on the way.

The original track has already made massive waves in the indie hop-hop scene, topping the HipHopGods Radio charts. Emma Lee M.C. even appeared as a guest on Roxanne Shante's "Have a Nice Day" radio show on Sirius XM/Rock the Bells Radio to further promote "Chocolate Bars" and her new book "Y'All (Not) Gon' Make Me Lose My Mind: Notes from a Hip-Hop Unicorn & Suicide Survivor".

Retrogott, known for his pivotal role in shaping Germany's hip-hop landscape, enhances the track's jazzy vibes with hard-hitting drums and a true golden era sound. While Roccwell's soulful production laid the foundation, Retrogott adds his own authentic flavor, combining vintage influences with his unique style to give "Cravings & Withdrawals" a timeless, underground feel. With this remix, "Chocolate Bars" continues to resonate with hip-hop aficionados, bridging the gap between modern and classic hip-hop sounds.

Emma Lee M.C. & Roccwell "Chocolate Bars" [Full Album Stream]

Emma Lee M.C. & Roccwell "Chocolate Bars" album (LP, CD, digital). Includes the singles "Like It's '93" feat. Masta Ace and "Cravings & Withdrawals" feat. Bahamadia.

The debut collaboration by Harlem, New York City raised, Ugandan born, award winning Hip Hop creative Emma Lee M.C. and decorated German producer Roccwell is a potent offering of globally creative proportions. Merging her bold, flowful vocals and piercingly imaginary lyricism with his smooth, classic, world-renowned "Boom Bap" production over seven tracks, the two who met during a pandemic aimed to stifle their artistry have used the "new normals" as opportunity to create new energy, tell new stories and re-balance tastes in the culture.

“Chocolate Bars” by Emma Lee M.C. & Roccwell stays true to its rooted theme and includes a few musical twists, start to finish. From its concept, choice of instruments, variation, undeniable lyricism, sounds and messaging, it creates both curiosity and satisfaction, and leaves Hip Hop lovers surely wanting more.
