"Hey Motherfucker" - It's Proteus x Black Art Ninja!

For the second single and title track from Proteus and Black Art Ninja's upcoming new collab album, Hey Motherfucker, producer BAN builds the beat around a metal-style garage-punk Volca bassline with squealing electrolobotomy synths in the background, rebirth and Volca drums, and catchy backing vocals by the Black Art Ninja Choir (Peachy Tickles, Misty Beavers and Jimmy 'Poppa' Noodles) on the hook. It makes for a weird but catchy tune. Lyrically, the single is raunchy and risqué, pushing the boundaries of good taste as you might expect with a song called "Hey Motherfucker". Proteus presents hentai hip hop in all its glory, loading the lyrics with sex and violence - and plenty of anime references! Should you prefer something safer, you would best digest "Hey Motherfunker", the radio edit that is both much cleaner and shorter - and lyrically rearranged. And if you want to go more extreme, you would want to explore “Hey Motherfucker (THINK Reimagine)" on which producer THINK includes a longer vocal cut that increases the crass quotient, the length of the song, and also assaults our eardrums with an extra layer of guitars added throughout. Pick your poison level on this maxi-single and jump into the deranged world of Proteus and Black Art Ninja.

Fortunato x The Dirty Sample "Get It" with new video

“Get It”, the third single from Fortunato x The Dirty Sample’s The Coalition, is a hustler’s anthem that preaches the tenets of devotion and perseverance. Fortunato expresses that time is finite and we all have one life to live so get it before it’s over. The Dirty Sample’s beat is a gritty, soulful production that complements Fortunato’s positive message. The video sees Fortunato rapping at a variety of locations across the GTA that emphasize the message: an abandoned building, a park, a building that gives the MC wings, and others. You only have one life to live, so get it!

Mickey O'Brien - "Gina" single and video

The second single from Mickey O’Brien’s Post Cards EP is “Gina”, a love-at-first-sight story set in the birth place of hip hop. On a trip to the city, Mickey and Gina encounter each other, feel the mutual electricity, and decide to explore the feeling despite the limited time they have together. The soundtrack for this tale of romance is a groovy boom bap beat by Fresh Kils beefed up with live keys by Zachary Clement throughout, a guitar solo by Petr Balaz for the outro, and a soulful blues hook courtesy of Sarah Craig and Annie Q. “Gina” is an excellent rap song for anyone who has ever been in love, no matter how fleeting.

The accompanying video was filmed on location in New York City by Dan Jardine for Boom Shoal Enterprises. It’s an accurate visual depiction of Mickey’s story while also perfectly portraying the giddiness experienced in those early days of love.

Mickey O'Brien - On Guard (video/single)

For “On Guard”, the second single from Mickey O’Brien’s upcoming album, Orebody, the MC delves deep into his psyche to tackle the emotion of fear. The anxiety of the artist is made palpable through his mind-splitting lyrics, taking your brain to another dimension. The banging boom bap beat from Juno-nominated producer Fresh Kils is further enhanced by eerie guitar strumming, frantic fiddling, and a haunting piano, while DJ Versatile’s precise cuts on the intro and chorus increases the intensity of the song. The accompanying remix from The Dirty Sample trades the Fresh Kils production for a boom bap beat of banging drums and soaring strings.

The video for “On Guard” is the first part of a three act series of videos from Orebody born from Mickey O’Brien’s obsession with Tarot cards, directed and shot by long-time collaborator Dan Jardine (Boom Shoal) and produced by O’Brien over three days at several locations throughout the GTA. Act 1 is The Fool, and it examines the consequences of ignoring the signs from the universe on the journey of life, doomed to repeat the lessons of the past.

Mickey O'Brien - Antipathy (feat. Myka 9)

For the first single from his third album, Orebody, Mickey O'Brien enlists the assistance of Myka 9, a recent touring partner and founding member of the Grammy-nominated Freestyle Fellowship, to touch on the topic of disgust using as a metaphor the general disregard by the general public and the powers that be for the poisoning of our water, which can also refer to humanity as a whole as well as to the self. From Montezuma's Revenge to Flint, Michigan, there's something in the water. The chill, melancholy production by Juno-nominated producer Fresh Kils is augmented by Anthony Rinaldi on sax and Zachary Clement on keyboards. Along with his verse, Myka 9 lends his voice to the hook backed by the soulful singing of Sarah Craig.

The single is released with an even more melancholy and soulful remix by Factor Chandelier, and the accompanying animated video by Baked Clown makes the message of “Antipathy” more explicit.

Ron "Bee-Stinger" Savage Releases "Snacks In The Night" Official Video

Owner of the Hip Hop Movement, Civil Rights Advocate, and former member of the New York State Democratic Committee, Ronald Savage shows off his credentials in his new video "Snacks In The Night." Known and respected in the scene as Bee-Stinger, he is stinging clout chasers and lyrical clowns throughout the track.

Over gritty production, Bee-Stinger's hard punchlines call out those who lack showmanship for the elements of Hip Hop. Amid those stings, he does acknowledge Hip Hop OG's and wordsmiths who create music true to Hip Hop. But for all the others, Bee-Stinger is taking them out like snacks in the night. Watch the video and connect with Bee-Stinger and the Hip Hop Movement below.

Beni-Hana "Blackwater Magi"

Dirty South Hip Hop juggernaut Beni-Hana is back again only 3 short months after his last album with his latest offering "Blackwater Magi" produced by Belgium beat smith The Gloomy Sailor.  The 80s anime inspiration is spread on in thick layers for this boom-bap Goon Musick release and boasts a gritty yet hardcore visual brought to us yet again by Amnesis guitarist Jason Miller.  The lyrical onslaught on both verses include a vast array of pop culture references from 90s basketball players and Saturday morning cartoons to 17th century German Astronomers that guarantees there will something new for listeners every time they revisit the track.

With more than 100+ Videos on youtube it doesn't seem that Beni-Hana will not be slowing down anytime soon with 8 videos dropping in the next two months from his new release scheduled for June 17th under German Hip-Hop legends the Snowgoons.  Guest appearances from Canadian heavyweight Snak the Ripper to NYC Queens bridge OG Blaq Poet there seems to be plenty in store for Underground Hip Hop fans in the coming weeks from Carolina.
