The sequel's production approach is openly declared: Premo, Pete Rock, Tribe, and Gang Starr are all sampled – not as name-dropping, but as a deliberate return to the sounds that shaped both artists' journeys. Where the first installment embodied boom bap with their own twist, part two goes back to the source material. "Old School, New School" carries the program in its title: homage to the past, trail blazing forward. The rollout was powered by three singles and support including Shade 45.
