Bloo Azul & The Standouts open Troo Bloo 2 with the concept spelled out: "The first chapter was about self-recognition. The second is about self-revelation." The first chapter arrived in 2023 as the six-track Troo Bloo EP; the sequel stretches the idea to ten songs, all produced by the Standouts, with Spanish Ran Azul's partner on Déjà Bloo and MF Bloo Deluxe on mix and master duty. Tree Mason is the lone guest, on "Nicks in Five." The tracklist reads like a wall of gallery plaques on its own: "Mr Sinister," "Watchdogs," "Apocalypto," "Freedom Land," "Raiders of the Lost Art," "Van Gogh." And the album slots into one of the Bronx's most quietly reliable operations Azul has spent recent years building a collab-album series with a rotating bench of producers (Spanish Ran, Sherman, Good Food, Pep57) plus a running partnership with Passport Rav that hit 83rd Strike earlier this year. Self-revelation, delivered at that pace, is less a theme than a method.
