Casino Niagara is four tracks and ten minutes and two seconds Book Of Revelations, Das Ruger, Child Support, Holly Robinson with production by The Standouts and Sayzee. There's no fat on it, and the scale is the point: a short collaboration between two MCs rather than a full-length padded out with interludes. Lord Juco raps out of Toronto and has a deep catalogue behind him White Walls, Raised Right, Two Birds working in a lane that runs through Asun Eastwood, Daniel Son and Estee Nack. "Book Of Revelations" opens the EP, and the video, directed by Manolo 3rd Eye, is the new element here. The verse is compact and apocalyptic in the way the title promises, but it's the small details that land it: "I do this for my people like Huey Newton," "Money and violence keep the chains moving," and then the record's sharpest turn "Y'all normalizing devil shit. That's Pazuzu," invoking the Mesopotamian wind demon rather than anything from the Christian canon, which is a better reference than the title suggests. Juco closes on "You either evolve or die. Most of you won't survive." No mix or mastering credits listed. Already covered here as a project when it dropped; this is the visual, and the opener is the right one to have picked.
