Los Chicos Criollos Kingdom Kome, an American MC, and Che Uno out of Toronto, operating out of Miami have put a video to "GunPowda NoseBumpz," and the reason it matters now is the date attached: Merca Musica, the duo's first album produced entirely by RUEN, arrives on November 10 through Walking With Enoch Music. That's the piece of information this release finally settles. The track itself is one of two singles put out ahead of it, and it carries Daniel Son, whom Kingdom Kome describes as "Che's people" a Toronto connection rather than a booking. RUEN produces, and the beat is built for two MCs switching between English and Spanish mid-verse: "Kingdom Come Latino Americano de la selva," Kome raps, and later "Every bar kicked like kung fu. War room cadence." The hook does what the title promises "doing nose bumps of gunpowder" and the whole thing sits in the rugged, unpolished register the duo has worked in since the Brujos tapes. The album title is the best part of the concept. Roughly translating as street slang for dope music, it lets Kome make the joke explicitly: "we are trafficking this pure uncut and unfiltered product, which is our music." Two MCs with shared Argentine roots calling their own distribution network a smuggling operation is funnier than most album concepts manage. The previous single, "Olmedo Y Porcel" named for the Argentine comedy duo was shot at a café in Toronto. No director is credited for this one.
