William J. Sullivan "Just Call Me Bill (Deluxe Edition)" [ALBUM]

"Just Call Me Bill" is less a conventional producer showcase than a map of William J. Sullivan’s listening history. His background runs through metal rooms, independent rap, experimental labels and high-level studio work, and the guest list reflects that width without turning into a random compilation. Rob Sonic and doseone connect the record to the left-field rap that helped shape Sullivan’s ear; ShrapKnel and Brian Ennals bring a harder contemporary edge; Luci, Hoko and Paris Texas widen the palette further. The deluxe edition places the complete instrumental sequence beside the vocal album, allowing Sullivan’s arrangements to stand without the MCs. Produced and mixed at his Long Beach studio, mastered by Alec Ness and issued on a 50-copy CD run, it is both résumé and personal statement.
