New York lyricists Nejma Nefertiti and Double A.B. team up with producer Dub Sonata for a conceptual project titled Animal Barz.

Each song on the thematic album details the intricacies of a different animal. First conceived as a 5-track EP, the trio expanded the concept into a full length LP to portray creatures such as Elephants, Sharks, and Butterflies among others — each depicted in the cover artwork designed by Nadeneco.

The lead single Pigeons reverently pays homage to T.O.N.Y., the timeless anthem by esteemed rap duo Capone-N-Noreaga, and utilizes the symbolic imagery of the pigeon — the unofficial mascot of New York City — to capture the essence of NYC Hip Hop and its cultural legacy. Animal Barz features guest appearances from prolific French-American emcee Napoleon Da Legend, esteemed Minneapolis lyricist Muja, and scratches on all tracks by Tone Spliff.

The LP is now available on limited edition vinyl, and additionally, bundled with a CD 6-pack that includes the Animal Barz pt. 1 EP, plus 5 additional previously-released albums from Nejma, A.B. and Dub. Each purchase includes the digital Deluxe version of Animal Barz, which includes all 10 instrumentals — exclusively available here on Bandcamp, and nowhere else.

Double A.B. X GIT Beats - Recliner

Double A.B. & producer Git Beats team up for their new music video, Recliner directed by Steven Tapia. The song is an ode to the finer things in life, specifically enjoying some herbal stimulation while reclining in your favorite comfy chair. The video illustrates just that as we witness A.B. in his bathrobe, kicking raps while lounging on his throne smack dab in the middle of NYC's famous Washington Square Park, amid a giant 4/20 celebration. Recliner is featured on Double A.B. & Git's new album Lungs Of Mahalia, dropping on all platforms 4/19.

Seasoned NY rhyme vet Double A.B. releases his new video "Devils & Drugs" alongside his new LP of the same name. The Kevin Casey produced song introduces the themes of addiction and battling one’s own inner demons, which he delves into in further detail throughout the album. The dark and haunting video was filmed in Harlem & Bushwick, NY by Last Call Steeve and Edited by Nick Andors and features a real live Brooklyn bruja performing a new moon ritual live on camera for the world to see.
