Motion by Abyss x Nine

 

Massachusetts rapper Abyss teams up with Bronx legend Nine on their latest release, "Motion," a rebrand of the original "Space Fumes" as part of the 2024 remix series. With vintage boom-bap vibes and gritty, ominous sonics, the track showcases the undeniable style between both artists. 

Abyss expresses his gratitude for the opportunity to work with Nine, one of his favorite rappers growing up, making this record more of a personally fulfilling drop. It features the renowned turntablist DJ Slipwax, whose cuts stab through the sonic spectrum perfectly. 

"Motion" is a testament to the raw talent and creativity of all involved. Abyss took a hands-on approach to this project. Creatively speaking, he handled all of the facets from start to finish, including the production, mixing, and even designing the cover and videos. This shows his growth not only as an artist but also as an executive producer.

PUT IT ON WAX is a new single by HipHop producer/emcee Status The Marlboro Man. The song features legendary HipHop Artists Nine as well as long time collaborator Krookid Hooks. The epic production and gritty rhymes come together to create an instant underground classic. 

PUT IT ON WAX is produced on the Akai MPC 2000xl using brooding symphonic hits and dirty break beats. The scratch chorus boasts the phrase "War-Time.. Put it in Wax". A fitting hook for such a hard hitting boom bap banger.

Status The Marlboro Man and Krookid Hooks have been releasing hardcore underground HipHop since the early 2000s, spearheading the Denver rap scene for over 20 years. Status and Hooks have worked with many hip-hop legends including Sadat X, Young Zee, Slaine and more. They are proud to present their latest collab with Rapper Nine. Nine has been a favorite emcee to many since the early nineties. Famous for his gravely voice and dark punchlines, Nine has helmed such classics as 'Lyin King,' 'Wutcha Want,' 'Red-Rum' and more. Nine has most recently worked with famed producers The Snowgoons.
