Status The Marlboro Man "ATLAS" (feat. A-F-R-O) [SINGLE]

ATLAS is the new single by Emcee/Producer Status The Marlboro Man & A-F-R-O. ATLAS caries vibes of the late 90S/early 2000s conspiracy rap of the time - but with updated themes. Listen as Status and A-F-R-O trade verses about secret American policies, racists politicians, genocidal wars, alien cover-ups, nazi-esque ICE raids, assassinations, and more. The theme and mood is sad and dark, but with an uptempo/head nodding beat.

The track is produced by Status The Marlboro Man on the Akai MPC 2000xl, giving the beat a warm and vintage feel. The name ATLAS has a double meaning: 1) Referring to the World's as a whole, ie an atlas.. and 2) Referencing the 600 yard long alien craft that passed through or solar system in late 2025. A fitting name for such an important song. The cover art is by Krookid Hooks and is inspired by poster art from 1950s sci-fi movies.

Status The Marlboto Man "Garbage Raps"

"GARBAGE RAPS" is the brand new single written, produced and performed by STATUS THE MARLBORO MAN. The new track is dark, catchy and hard hitting. The beat is slow but embodies classic underground hip-hop to a T. Precise drums and booming bass lay the groundwork for eerie piano notes and strings.

GARBAGE RAPS is written as a tongue-in-cheek critique of the newer rap music being released. It's serious in tone when addressing the many sad notes the modern Emcee chooses to include in their music. The drug dealer is now the drug user, the beats are no longer warm - but seem robotic. The subject matter in modern hip-hop is simple and ignorant. No more teaching, with lessons replaced by juvenile self harming brovado. But as the song progresses, Status begins to self reflect and confront the fact that he is becoming old and disgruntled. Status writes to remember how ridiculous and ignorant much of the music he loves was back in the day.

GARBAGE RAPS is both a cautionary tale for the youth, as well as a reflective therapy session for the older generation. The intent of the song is to poke fun at the differences in styles and attempt to bridge the gap between the old and the new - While never losing the underground hardcore tone and spirit.

Status The Marlboro Man has been a staple in underground music for years, working with legends Sadat X, A-F-R-O, El Da Sensei, Nine and more. Find GARBAGE RAPS with B-Side THE BASEMENT on all digital platforms.

Status The Marlboro Man "Harvey"

"Harvey" is written and produced by Status the Marlboro Man. The beat was produced on the Akai MPC 2000xl. The title is in reference to the Batman villain known as Two-Face, whose real name is Harvey Dent

In Harvey's comic arch, Two-Face starts off as a righteous man who fights injustices but is wronged and later becomes a ruthless killer. There's a line from the Dark Knight film in which Harvey Dent explains that heros either die or live long enough to become the villain. In Status' track "Harvey", the line is sampled as the intro, setting up a scenario in which a super power, once revered, has become so vicious over time that they're unaware they've become the bad guy in their fight.

"Harvey" uses middle eastern samples and brooding bass, hard boom-bap drum loops and drops. Lyrics such as "Does the hero live long enough to be the villain - the enemy of my enemy is killing children" are poetic yet to the point. It is the duty of each individual to use their voice or medium to create awareness. There are atrocities taking place in modern times in Palestine and abroad. Innocent civilians are being murdered and bullied. "Harvey" aims to shed light on both the oppressed and the oppressors.
