Chuck Platinum, a critically acclaimed, and mutli-award-winning producer, DJ, and Hip Hop artist ends the year with a new single. "Goodbye '25" closes a chapter and opens a new one for Chuck. Tap in below for more on the record, its resonating power, and what fans can expect from Chuck in 2026!
MJ: Let's dive right into the new single, "Goodbye ‘25."
This track exhilarates smooth, laid-back melodies. But it hits with a distinct
message. Talk about the importance of that message.
Chuck: The message has many layers to it. One is saying
goodbye to the year, which is the obvious one, but it’s also symbolizing
goodbye to the old me, goodbye to everything that I was going through, goodbye
to anything that’s not aligned with my purpose which explains the cover of the
mold being broken. There’s a lot of changes happening behind the scenes.
MJ: As an artist, producer, DJ, and radio personality, how
did 2025 add to your accolades and was that tied into the new record?
Chuck: This year was all about progression and quiet
branding and rebranding and restructure. I didn’t really perform this year, but
I did release 3 projects and a single, so I just focused on being present with
the music while structuring my label Ayanna Records to infiltrate in 2026. I
don’t think it was tied to this record, but after I started writing it, it gave
it a new purpose.
MJ: Your lyrical flow on this record resonates and exudes a
spoken word vibe. Share your secret for being consistently
versatile.
Chuck: At this point in my rap career, I don’t have much to
say so it’s more of me talking to you than rapping to you. My bars have always
been simple yet with double entendres and metaphors, but I proved my validity
as a rapper I been doing it over 30 years. This next chapter in my rap bag is
conversation and truth not just rapping to be rapping. I’m moving more into the
business side of things, but I still must feed the fans.
MJ: What can fans look forward to from Chuck Platinum in
2026?
Chuck: 1st quarter we are dropping a new collaboration project with Kony Brooks produced by me called Genius Level Rap Vol. 2 which drops on Jan 16th, I am going to complete the Beats in The Attic series by releasing volumes 4&5 which will close out the series, I might have a couple of surprises as far as projects are concerned but I don’t want to confirm yet, I got a few artists I’m doing full projects with, continuing with the CrateRunner DJs, and also just leveling up the label with more catalog. We have a lot in store too much to name...
