"Supervillains" comes from the Chicagospel orbit produced by Scripz the L.O.T., with Panamera P, Jae Haze, Vic Spencer and Philmore Greene as guests, directed and edited by Clark Airlines. The context is externally documented: "Chicagospel" is a 14-track project from Chicago MCs Rufus Sims and IAMGAWD, curated by Harmoni Equality, released via The 17th Cipher/RAN/NXMEDIXCRE, recorded, mixed and mastered by Doc Da Mindbenda at The Grindhouse. The album explicitly positions itself as a statement about Chicago hip-hop's depth beyond the drill sound. This track's guest list confirms the networking: Jae Haze forms The Lil People with Rufus Sims whose Tony Baines album "Is You Koo" already ran here. Vic Spencer last appeared on 067Red's project, Philmore Greene with Vic Monroe & Tone Spliff. Chicago is writing its own dense network right now with The 17th Cipher as the hub and press coverage credits the project with some of the strongest creative direction around a Chicago release in recent memory. IAMGAWD has already publicly hinted that a "Chicagospel 2" could happen.
