“Anthem” is the patriotic first single from And Nero Played, the upcoming new album from Ultra Magnus dropping this summer on Hand'Solo Records. The song is a rallying call for Canucks worldwide who value our sovereignty over servility. Ultra Magnus delivers a crowd-pleasing sing-a-long chorus and Canada-centric lyrics over a chill beat heavy on piano. The video features shots of the politically-charged final game of the National Hockey Leagues’s 4 Nations Face-Off combined with further footage that highlights the content of the lyrics. Oh, Canada, I think we have a new national anthem! Elbows up!

Mickey O'Brien's pro-union anthem "One Day Longer"

A third generation miner by trade as well as a union steward, Mickey O’Brien was inspired in 2009 by the year long strike and legendary labour dispute between his union, United Steelworkers Local 6500, and the Brazilian mining giant Vale over hourly contract negations, penning the song “One Day Longer”, which gained worldwide notoriety from the labour movement and is still played on picket lines across the globe to this day. The song propelled him to the forefront of labour singers and saw him touring with legendary artists like Anne Feeney, most notably playing a 70,000-person protest at a general strike in Madison, Wisconsin. Now, fifteen years later, he releases the song to streaming platforms for the first time to inspire a new generation of union activists. Which side are you on?
