Rap Noir "Vantage" feat. Guilty Simpson [VIDEO]

The third Rap Noir material in this column after "Club Noir" and the "Undefined" orbit but with a new constellation. "Vantage" comes from the forthcoming WORK/RELEASE EP, a collaboration between Rap Noir, Osaka-based design creative Viva La Mort and Carhartt: rugged beats and rhymes paired with custom workwear, each single matched to its own colorway of a customized Carhartt jacket. That's merchandise as conceptual building block, not afterthought. The duo's billing sharpens: Tajai (Souls of Mischief/Hieroglyphics) now operates as BLACK HOODIE, with UnJust (Chosen Few, First Light) producing. The guest carries weight: Detroit's Guilty Simpson, whose recording career spans more than 30 years J Dilla's declared favorite rapper, Stones Throw veteran, one third of Random Axe alongside Black Milk and the late Sean Price. Justin Herman directs, translating the song's darker edges into surreal, shifting perspectives. Hieroglyphics abstraction meets Detroit granite a pairing that looks unusual on paper and works precisely because of it.
